PRIVACY AND SECURITY POLICY

YOUR PRIVACY

Thank you for shopping at shopnectar.com! Ensuring the privacy and security of your personal information is very important to us. Our privacy and security policy outlines the information we collect about you, how and why we use the information, and the choices you have to restrict our usage of this information.

What do we do with your information?

When you provide us with personal information to inquire about an item, complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery, or return a purchase, you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason as well as to improve our marketing efforts. This information may be combined with other identifiable personal information (such as demographic and past purchase information) from our records and other sources. We may use this combined information for future marketing initiatives and to help us improve our website presentation and your overall shopping experience.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like adding you to our mailing list, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

How do I withdraw my consent?

Our Email List

We offer those who sign-up for our email list advanced notice of sales, new merchandise, imported furniture and other product arrivals, and other Nectar news. Email addresses collected at shopnectar.com are only used internally. We respect your privacy rights and will not sell or rent your email address to other companies. If you would like to unsubscribe from our email list simply contact us at mail@shopnectar.com or (845) 687-2870. We will remove your name from our email list as soon as possible. Please recognize that you may receive another email before we are able to remove you.


DISCLOSURE

Shopnectar.com may disclose specific personal information about you if required by law, governmental request or court order, if based on our good faith we believe that it is necessary to conform or comply with such law, request or court. We may also disclose information about you to a company contracted to help prevent the unauthorized use of credit and gift cards.


SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Please note that any activity on your bank or credit card statement from Nectar may show up as Right Action Design, our LLC.

 

ADROLL
 
We use AdRoll to provide targeted advertising services to our customers. AdRoll uses cookies, tracking pixels and related technologies to collect  data such as IP addresses, cookie identifiers, and website activity for targeted advertising. By visiting our site, third parties, such as AdRoll, may place cookies on your browsers for targeted advertising purposes. Cookies are small data files that are served by the AdRoll platform and stored on your device. AdRoll uses cookies dropped by them or third parties for a variety of purposes including totrack how you use the site and also operate and personalize targeted advertisingon other sites based on your online activity. 

For example, if you visit our website and shop for furniture, AdRoll (or another platform they work with) may later serve you with targeted ads for our brand of furniture as you browse the internet or through other channels, such as emails. 
We recognize how important your online privacy is to you, so the following options are available for controlling the targeted ads you receive and how AdRoll uses your data:
  • You can opt out of receiving targeted ads served by AdRoll or on their behalf by clicking on the blue icon that typically appears in the corner of the ads they serve or by clicking here. Please note that if you delete your cookies or upgrade your browser after having opted out, you will need to opt out again. Further, if you use multiple browsers or devices you will need to execute this opt out on each browser or device. If you opt-out, AdRoll may collect some data about your online activity for operational purposes (such as fraud prevention) but it won't be used by them for the purpose of targeting ads to you.
  • AdRoll is also a member of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and adheres to the NAI Codes of Conduct. You may use the NAI opt out tool here, which will allow you to opt out of seeing targeted ads from them and from other NAI approved member companies.
  • AdRoll also complies with the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising as managed by the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA). You may opt out of receiving targeted ads from other companies that perform ad targeting services, including some that AdRoll may work with as Advertising Partners via the DAA website here.
  • AdRoll also complies with the Canadian Self-regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising as managed by the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC). You may opt out of receiving targeted ads from other companies that perform ad targeting services, including some that AdRoll may work with as Advertising Partners via the DAAC website here.
  • AdRoll also adheres to the European Interactive Advertising Digital Alliance (EDAA) guidelines for online advertising and you may opt out via their Your Online Choices website.
  • To opt out of receiving targeted ads that are based on your behavior across different mobile applications follow the below instructions, for iOS and Android devices:
    • iOS 7 or Higher: Go to your Settings > Select Privacy > Select Advertising > Enable the “Limit Ad Tracking” setting
    • For Android devices with OS 2.2 or higher and Google Play Services version 4.0 or higher: Open your Google Settings app > Ads > Enable “Opt out of interest-based advertising”

Opting out will not prevent you from seeing ads, but those ads will likely be less relevant because they won’t be tailored to your interests. The ads might, for instance, be randomly generated or based on the web pages you are visiting.

PAYMENT

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI SecurityStandards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Please note that email is not encrypted and is not considered a secure means of transmitting credit card numbers. We will never ask for sensitive information via email.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers. In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy & Security Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

LINKS

When you click on links on our store, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

SECURITY

To protect your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

Here is a list of cookies that we use. We’ve listed them here so you that you can choose if you want to opt-out of cookies or not.

 _shopify_visit, no data held, Persistent for 30 minutes from the last visit, Used by our website provider’s internal stats tracker to record the number of visits
 _shopify_uniq, no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.
cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information about the contents of your cart.
 _secure_session_id, unique token, sessional
 storefront_digest, unique token, indefinite If the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access.

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy & Security Policy at any time and for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed, so please review it frequently. Any changes made will be posted here. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on shopnectar.com. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.  By visiting our website you agree to accept any changes made to this policy.
If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
