Our flagship store in High Falls, NY is overflowing with color, texture, and ever-changing vignettes. There are heirloom treasures and items that inspire wanderlust at every turn. There's a curated assortment of Fair Trade and handcrafted housewares and gifts from around the globe that have a positive impact on the communities from which they came. 

Nectar offers a rare blend of imported and local furniture, art, glassware and tabletop items, exquisite jewelry, luscious hand blended organic teas and chocolate, statuary, decadent candles and body products, a fun children's section, Putumayo CDs, antique doors, and much, much more. Traditional pieces sit side by side with designs dreamed up or hand selected, utilizing reclaimed and recycled materials with little environmental impact. Many of our beautiful inspired items are Fair Trade, supporting women’s cooperatives and community projects in developing countries around the world, tree-planting initiatives, AIDS research and sustainable development.

Nectar is seeking a personable, passionate, and creative Assistant Web Store Manager to join our team! This is a full-time position where you will apply your customer service and retail experience to daily in-store, web and email-based tasks.



You are strategic by nature, helping to build a quickly growing small business. This full-time position is based at our store in High Falls, NY.



ABOUT THE JOB 

You will work closely with the managers and storeowner to mind the physical and web stores simultaneously... there are many hats to be worn! Customer service, including quick and courteous face-to-face, email, and telephone communications, is a priority to us.

You will work to build the Nectar brand across multiple web platforms, and must be web savvy with the ability to adapt to new software systems. Experience with point of sale software and e-commerce a huge plus!



DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers as they enter the store- introduce them to both locations, offer them a sample of tea, and make them feel at home.
  • Respond to online inquiries regarding store inventory, availability, specs, etc.
  • Maintain the web-store daily, which includes writing product descriptions, styling and photographing items, packing online orders, negotiating shipping details for large-scale and small-scale orders, communicating with various suppliers, sourcing inventory.

You are driven, self-motivated, and creative. You love a challenge, and succeeding at it, but can laugh at your own mistakes. You are very comfortable holding a conversation with anyone, whether in-person, online, or on the phone. You are open to learning new things with patience and without ego. You want to work in a caring, cooperative environment, co-creating with others and building a thing of beauty.
