Shwe Shwe Poppis Project Buyisile Doll
- → 30336734019
This colorful and enchanted plush doll was born from the original drawing of Buyisile, its young creator in Soweto, a township outside of Johannesburg in South Africa. The inspiring Shwe-Shwe Poppis cooperative, a group of
29 mothers and grandmothers,
is the economic empowerment and fundraising arm of the African Children's Feeding Program, an NGO that feeds over 21,000 children daily. The artisans breathe life into the drawings of Zola nursery's children, a preschool for children with HIV/AIDS and other severe illnesses. These playful Fair Trade dolls have big personalities, and bear the story and name of their young creators on a colorful hangtag.
Your purchase helps support the children's healthcare and education as well as poverty relief in their community,
changing the lives of their artisans and inspiring hope of a brighter future.
